Have Your Say
The silencing of voices, and the abuse by the system must end. We need to collectively speak out and end this national crisis.
We believe possibly tens of thousands of people (as children) suffered abuse outside of institutions -- as are children suffering today. In many instances the abuse and mental harm was further exacerbated when those in authority did not believe and did not act. There are presently 56,000 children in Out of Home Care, and many advocates believe that 70 to 80% should not be under guardianship.
We are hoping that advocates around the country will reach out to us to exchange ideas, and we too will offer them as much support as we can -- under-resourced are we are at this time. The initial focus will be in South Australia, but hopefully candidates in other states will come on board in time. We are hoping that, like the #metoo movement, this exposure will start an avalanche of complaints to Federal and State governments across the country. It is unacceptable that our elected officials and mainstream media have remained SILENT for decades.
